CENTRE NEWS

The Centre
Saturday, June 5, was World Environment Day, and we had a very successful stall at Grafton Shoppingworld, with the interactive Ecological Footprint board, face painting by Simone, and informative displays on the threatened species of the Shannon Creek Dam, the plight of Tasmanian Rainforest/Wilderness areas and general environmental information.

The Shops
Winter is usually a pretty quiet time at the Centre, however, the shops are doing well, and we could still do with one or two volunteers to do a half day shift. We just unpacked some lovely new stock, from Indian trinkets to African seagrass baskets. Come in and check them out. And please, keep the Op Shop donations coming.

Members
We are getting close to our AGM, when all memberships will fall due, and there are a significant number of members who have not updated for the current year. Please drop in or mail your fees to help us keep our membership numbers up.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Emma and Mark, Kaya and Gareth, and Jenny and Mark, on the births of Tara, Spiral and Viola Lily. We are sure you will bring them up in the spirit of positive environmentalism.

Grants
We have been successful in obtaining a Small Equipment Grant to update our admin computer and purchase a marquee and trestles for our outdoor activities.

AGM Notice
Thursday, August 19, 4pm at the Clarence Environment Centre. All members welcome to attend and nominate.
