CENTRE NEWS

Volunteers

Good news! We've got a full roster of volunteers for the first time in ages. But don't let that discourage you, if you've just decided to give us a few hours of your precious time, we'll still find you a spot. Thanks everyone.

The Shops

The shops have been rather quiet, and donations to the Op Shop have dried up. Please remember us when you do that spring clean of house or shed! By the time this newsletter reaches you, we'll have the ever popular 2006 Moon Planting Calendar in stock, as well as Wilderness and Moon Diaries. So please don't forget to do your end of year and/or Xmas shopping here.

AGM

Our AGM was held in August, and the new committee consists of:

President: Jim Knight
Vice President: Dave Funnell
Secretary: John Edwards
Treasurer: Karin Kirk
Public Officer: Peter Magins

General Committee Members:
Stephen Gonado
Sandra Brincat
Patricia Edwards
Claire Watt
(+ Newsletter)

Membership fees became due at the AGM, and I would urge all members to bring their membership up to date, as many of you have not paid for the last financial year. As we are now entirely self supporting, every dollar counts.

Library

Recent acquisitions: “Affluenza” by Clive Hamilton, “Earth Alive” by Mary E. White, and “The Weather Makers” by Tim Flannery. Remember, financial members can borrow books, while others have to read them at the Centre.

The Emporium

Unfortunately, Annie recently decided to stop serving lunches, but the good news is that you can still get a great coffee and variety of yummy cakes and slices. So do drop in, browse around, and make sure you come and see us at the Centre, have a chat with a volunteer, check out our library, gift shop, op shop, send a fax, get a photocopy done or get that poster laminated. All at your Clarence Environment Centre.
