SITUATIONS VACANT AT THE ENVIRONMENT CENTRE

Here's a chance to build your skills, make new friends and help keep the Environment Centre afloat. We have three voluntary jobs starting from August this year.

Treasurer
A bit like Peter Costello's job but more ethically-based and no superannuation. This job involves

doing the Environment Centre's books

making sure the bills are paid and we're earning more than we're spending

organising the banking

reporting to funding bodies

giving financial reports at monthly meetings

doing the annual financial statement

and generally keeping your finger on the Centre's financial pulse.

Volunteer coordinator
The Environment Centre is staffed daily by volunteers. We need someone to coordinate the volunteer roster. This means

arranging with volunteers suitable days and times to work

introducing new workers to the centre

liaising with employment providers and volunteer agencies

playing a supportive role with volunteers

Shop administrator
This is a job for someone who will

select and order affordable, attractive and ethical stock for our gift shop

keep the gift shop and op shop looking good

liaise with the treasurer and the committee.

Just to put it in perspective, these three jobs have been getting done by one person for the past nine years. While Karin's enjoyed it, she's decided it's time to throw these jobs open. She's set up good systems and is willing to train new people.
