Gift Shop

As we are still 100% self funded, the gift shop is our main source of revenue. Apart from the usual items such as calico, hessian and jute bags, pottery, henna, incense, t-shirts, books, cards and CD's etc, our range of alternative healing goods is increasing to an interesting level.

We now stock...

  • All Purpose Healing Oil
  • Melaleuca Nodosa (for the relief of itchy bites)
  • Natural Insect Repellent
  • Natural Sunscreen
  • Rescue Remedy
  • Thuja Cream and Crystal Deodorant.

We are experiencing a healthy turnover of 'trash & treasures', and with most prices being 50 cents to a dollar, everything is very affordable. So please keep donating your unwanted items and keep patronising our Op Shop Room.

Web Site Top of page

After years of half hearted attempts we finally have a very presentable web site, thanks to a group of TAFE students who used the C.E.C computer for their term project.

They also redesigned our letterhead and designed and installed a 'web log' to help us keep track of internet access times. Well done! Thanks a lot Kathleen, Jason, Ian, Jeff, John & Phil.

A warm welcome to Kerry, who's quickly become indispensible and Jay our new Work for the Dole person with computer skills.

Connie should have her baby any day now and Liam might be going back to Uni, so we could do with another one or two new volunteers to help look after the centre and of course there are endless opportunities for people who would like to get a bit more active in the various environmental problem areas.

The last few months saw several smaller fundraising efforts including se
lling food and drinks at the Madcap CD launch at the TAFE's brewery venue in May, Catering at the Reconciliation Rally in Market Square in June...

a stall at Shoppingworld on World Environment Day, reinforcing the 'No Plastic Bags' message and offering a large variety of alternatives from cardboard boxes to string bags, calico bags and all our other bags which made for a nicely colourful display.

also, Dave and Liam wrapped a car in used plastic bags in the car park outside to draw people's attention to our efforts.
