The Centre

So a decision has finally been reached and the move of the Centre office and library to the Emporium is imminent. The logistics of the move itself are pretty overwhelming, but it has been done before, so we’ll manage.

What we’ll need are

  1. volunteers to help pack and carry things, and, maybe even more pressing…
  2. shelving, shelving, shelving for our library

If anyone has spare quantities of timber, good ideas, muscles, initiative or time to help, please contact us soon.

The Emporium

The gift and op shop at the Emporium are doing pretty well, and merging our two premises into one will hopefully help alleviate the staffing problems.

Our giftware range still proves popular and the op shop is still the "cheapest in town".

Thanks for all the donations – and please keep them coming…

Fundraising

We had a great day at the recent Nymboida Markets, selling out of food (mixed curry plates, cakes and slices) and drinks, and raised a good amount of money.

June 5 was World Environment Day, and Jay, at the Emporium and Felicity and Kaya at school, sold green ribbons.

Did you know that a recent study power station emits five times the carbon dioxide of a coal-fired station? This is due to the wood's low calorific value, low generation efficiency plus high expansion factor (associated CO2 released from harvesting, machinery, transport etc.) A copy of the study is available at the Centre.
