CENTRE NEWS

The Shops

Both Gift Shop and Op Shop are well patronised and carry the bulk of our fundraising. We now stock a new range of T Shirts and Patches with messages such as McDeath, Corporate Krap, Economic Rationalism isn’t etc. and we also just received a new lot of Anti Uranium T Shirts and Stickers. Face Cards, Candles, Henna and Hairbands, Deo Crystals and Incense are forever popular and make great gifts for family and friends. The Op Shop is currently being cleaned out of winter clothes (come and grab a 50cent bargain) and restocked with summer gear.

Volunteers

As our rather high turnover of both shop and office volunteers continues, here is another plea to anyone interested in spending four or eight hours per week at the Centre. Also, we urgently require new co-ordinator to oversee the day to day operations of the Centre. Anyone interested?

Fundraising

Last Wednesday we celebrated the CEC’s first birthday at the Emporium with our best ever Music Cafe with a large number of performers and overwhelming audience. Thanks to everyone who turned up or provided food. We are happy to report that we sold out of absolutely everything! Susie and Valerie from NEFA provided a touch of realism by opening the evening with an update of the Sheas Nob blockade.

Great News

We have just been notified that the CEC is now on the Register of Environmental Organisations with full Gift Recipient Status, ie. all donations of $ 2.00 or more to the CEC are now tax deductible. We have established the Clarence Environment Centre Gift Fund for that purpose and look forward to your donations.
